So I hit the halfway point for Alan Wake, and hot damn! That is one fine slice of game. Its riding the line very close to what I would call a ‘perfect’ game. But because this is my definition, not the unwashed masses, it may not be your perfect game.

It is very much in touch with several things I love:

Adventure Games
Survival Horror
‘The writer writes reality’ storyline
Cthulhu
Twilight Zone references

Now the graphics are not very good. Especially on the character models, but you really shouldn’t let that get between you and an amazing game. But I am a sucker for story heavy games. And no, not retardo story, like Metal Gear games. Like an actual story. Not just invisible Russian vampire ninjas.

So you should go buy it, or at least read some reviews. It does a better job of putting you in the game than anything since Bioshock.
