[Batman: AA]

The game is pretty good fun. I personally dont think it really deserves ALL the lavish praise people are heaping upon it, like it was the digital second coming or something. I think a few design choices are keeping this from the upper echelon of gaming. In fact, let me point out the things that do so.

1. No jump button. Yes there is a jumping dodge, and the classic Zelda run-off-the-ledge-jump, but thats not enough for me. I jump constantly in my games, its how I groove. To be a super-hero without jumping is horrible constricting for me.

2. The vents. Like in todays comic. Pretty much EVERY situation in the entire game has been fixed with vents so far. I mean its silly.

3. Alfred. Is he in the game? I’m only 1/3 done. If he isnt in the game at all, thats really annoying. but this isnt really holding the game back so much. I just like that old dude.

4. Batman feels kinda like an oaf. When I am forced to rushing a bad guy, there is no real quick way to get to him. It feels like im wading through pudding. I don’t know if I am just spoiled by how fast you could move in the last Wolverine game, but I dont like how un-athletic Bats controls.

5. No saving? Really? I’m a modern man, i like to save my game a billion times. Just having save points makes me feel nervous each time I power down.

Actually thats about it. I really am having fun otherwise.

Ok, bye.
