So I finally got myself the netbook I have been talking about for the past few months, so far I am quite pleased with it. Its the HP 10” Mini, pretty great so far.
…
But of course I cant be normal, so I started down the long road of putting Ubuntu on the sucker. Slightly difficult because the netbook has no cd drive.
But I got it all done.
So far, I am not super impressed with it. I do not feel that the Linux gods have freed me from my Windows shackles, it just seems like more of a hassle to do anything with it. But we shall see.
Not content to just stick with Ubuntu, I am trying to get the “Netbook Remix” onto the sucker. Since its optimized for the Atom processor, and tiny screen I think I may find it more pleasing. But for some reason the download keeps failing. Its a big download (1G) and when it fails at the 100% mark, that pisses me off. It pisses me off heavy. SO I am trying to DL it to the ole PC first, then Ill burn the image to a usb, yadda yadda yadda, and I’m real tired today.
