[Siren Demo]

07/23/08 by Colin

I played the Siren Demo last night on my shiny PS3. And at first I was all “WOOOOOOOAH” like Keanu, then I was all “Hmmmmm?” like an older, more world-weary Keanu. The game seems to feature beautiful graphics, but that is only because it has a kickass lighting system. When you actually see the character models NOT completely in the dark, it looks like Silent Hill 2 era graphics…which shouldn’t be.

Also when you move, the main character kinda falls all over the place, and acts drunk….and to go with this drunk-walking the controls also handle like swatting an angry donkey with a stick- it might do what you want, but probably not. Basically I would have killed for some sensitivity options so I could actually play the game instead of like spinning my way through it at sloppy-overdrive.

Other than that the game seemed fun, some nice ideas about attacking/evading enemies. But seriously, if the full game doesn’t have the controls less wonky, or a way to make them less responsive? I can’t imagine really liking it.

And it don’t get any better (Going backwards again)

Take a stand!
