I bought both the new Less Than Jake cd and the new Alkaline Trio cds in the past two weeks. A big deal since they are 2 of my favorite bands. I would say this is the current rankings:

1. Screeching Weasel
2. NOFX
3. Weezer
4. Alkaline Trio
5. Less Than Jake

Which is why I am happy to report that the LTJ cd “LTJ FLV GNV” is very very good. It ditches that weird 7th grade techno shit and brings back the pure ska. Love it.

The AT cd “Agony & Irony” however I think is another step in the direction that Crimson took- less hard, more puss. Not to say it’s not good music, it just isn’t as raw. And the raw is where I prefer Alkaline Trio to be. But shit, that’s just me. It is still Alkaline Trio, and I am still happy to own it.

1. As a newbie Less Than Jake fan, what album would you suggest to start off with? I’ve only really listened to The Science of Selling Yourself Short, so I am unwise in the way of LSJ. I need your help, Ninja Ken!!
