I ate my first Big Mac ever yesterday. They suck. Also tried the Southwestern Chicken sandwich McDonald’s has been pushing. Lackluster. Like it was even more white bread that a regular chicken sandwich. In trying to decipher its reason for existence, all I could come up with is that the breading was a bit darker and more reminiscent of fried chicken. I was expecting a flavor blast and seasonings that would ambush my tongue like nobody’s business, but what I got was nothing more than a mediocre piece of chicken on a bun. Buzz kill of the season.
Buzz enhancer of the week, a five hundo gas crunch bonus from the office. No, not Steve Carell.
Another dissapointment is the canceled trip to Iowa City due to flooding. Unfortunately, out hover boards don’t work on water, unless we have power. Which we don’t.
Despite this, I am still very much excited for next weekend when Wizard World rolls into Chicago. Some firsts this year. First time going with Colin’s parents, yes, we’re 24 years old, but I started going to this with his family a few years back, and they enjoy it just as much as us, so we would all go together. This year we are bringing two new recruits to the festivies so we going on our own, but don’t worry Colin is getting a weekend pass and still going with his parents another day. I’m going to try my hardest to buy a lot of shit. Every year I always bide my time looking for better items or better prices but I play it too safe and leave with too little. Not this year.
Colin and I did some discussing of Final Fantasy recently, and I really want to just take the best factors of each game and make a new system. Summons of VIII, skill system of IX, limit breaks of X and throw in some western styled attribute distribution. Too bad we’re not game designers, so I started thing about a tabletop version of Final Fantasy and that thought got me all kinky. Designing my own system and mechanics and coming up with a new way of playing out those classic FF roles.
I think the imminent arrival of comic convention is turning by normally quiet nerd level up to an 11.
Where’s my inhaler?!
